The window that opens a file is called the Viewer.  There are three main types of Viewers: image, text, and archive.  While the main view area is similar in each of these, the toolbar menu options and status bars are distinct.  After you open a file you can open others without having to close the Viewer as Ultra File Opener has multi-Viewer support.  See the Open File page for more information on opening Viewers.

 

notes Regardless of the type of file you open, UFO will automatically open the correct Viewer for that file type.

Image Viewer

The Image Viewer will be displayed when you open a supported image file type.  It appears as can be seen here:

Text Viewer

The Text Viewer will be displayed when you open a supported text file.  It appears as can be seen here:

Archive Viewer

The Archive Viewer will be displayed when you open a supported archive file type.  It appears as can be seen here:

Hex Viewer

The Hex Viewer will be displayed when you open a supported hex file type or when you open a file type that is not supported.  It appears as can be seen here:

Closing the Viewer

There are a few options available for managing the Viewer window including several ways to close or exit.

From the Viewer: Minimize, Maximize, Close

There are two ways of closing the Viewer directly from the Viewer window.

To close the Viewer, do one of the following:

The top right buttons - Minimize, Maximize, and Close - are standard window buttons.  You can minimize the window to the taskbar, maximize it to full screen size, and you can close it using the red "X" button.
Click the File drop down menu and select Exit.

From the Taskbar:

You can also close the Viewer window from the taskbar.

To close a file from the taskbar shortcut, do the following:

Right-click the icon and select Close window.

notes  If there is more than one Viewer open you can close all of them at once by selecting "Close all windows".
